A long time ago we thought about reusing our boxes and baskets. This is of course more ecological. But after obtaining advice from the FASFC, among others, we were strongly discouraged from doing so. This is because of food safety and hygiene and also because of the risk of cross-contamination. The choice of food safety therefore took precedence over the ecological aspect.
We also notice that our boxes are very popular with our customers because of their strength - so we are happy that at least part of them will be given a second life.
FAVV also expressed the same objections about refillable packaging - which is why we have chosen our current cardboard packaging, which not only consists of recycled material but is also 100% recyclable.
